Carlentini, “The Scrapping of a respectable Italian”. Written and directed by Carlo Buccirosso, Taken from “The miracle of Don Ciccillo”. Turi Ferro Theater.

CARLENTINI  –   On January 28, 2021, the “Turi Ferro” theater in Carlentini hosts a great Neapolitan artist, Carlo Buccirosso, known in the panorama of cinema and the Italian stage.

Together with Carlo Buccirosso, in the role of the tax payer, talented artists perform such as: Donatella De Felice the wife, Elvira Zingone the daughter, Giordano Bassetti the son, FiorellaZullo the sister-in-law, PeppeMiale the brother-in-law, Gino Monteleone the priest, Matteo Tugnoli the Filipino, Davide Marotta the postman, Tilde De Spirito the mother-in-law (in order of entry).

The sets were designed by Gilda Cerullo and Renato Lori, the costumes by Zaira De Vincentiis, the music by Paolo Petrella, the lighting design by Francesco Adinolfi and the photo by Gilda Valenza, assistant director of FabrizioMiano, the production of EnteTeatroCronacaVesuvioteatro.

The story set in Naples, sees the protagonist Alberto Pisapia restaurateur in crisis, due to the economic failure that he is experiencing and of which he considers the main causes of the whole disaster, his mother-in-law an official at Equitalia and his brother accountant. Other characters masterfully rotate around him: his depressed ex-singer wife, his sons Vincenzo and Matteo (one head waiter and the other a chemistry graduate), the housekeeper, the doctor, a young nurse, a dwarf postman and the curate Don Ciccillo. , which would seem a marginal figure, but in reality it serves to resolve the plot.

Apparently, the snake-relatives figures, which are not lacking in this bizarre family, represent a reality with which the public can confront and identify with. Easily, the viewer sees himself in the comedy of real life, inviting him to reflect on the misunderstandings and useless neuroses that man allows himself to be tamed, resulting in uncomfortable situations that, with hindsight, could have been avoided. The stage, therefore full of heterogeneous figures that recall the tradition of Neapolitan popular theater, animated by the modernity of a plot rich in dynamism and moments of effect.

Inevitably, you can breathe the air of the jokes and comic situations of the engaging rhythm of De Filippo’s theater. It is a theatrical show where you laugh a lot, with continuous twists, characterized by the richness, the panache, the rhythm of the jokes and the Neapolitan language.

The extraordinary mimicry of Carlo Buccirosso stands out by conquering the public and making social satire without leaving a bitter taste in the mouth, but a big laugh on the lips.

Through the character of Piasapia, Carlo Buccirosso paints the average man who lets himself be overwhelmed by a thousand problems, to the point of bordering on the destruction of his own serenity and individuality, falling into a state of madness and paranoia. It will be he himself who will say that the miracle will come … Which one? Someone will ask … And he will answer: “That of the power of Love”, the only, eternal and universal engine of all humanity.
