The Municipality of Lentini, in the person of the Mayor Avv. Rosario Lo Faro, the Councilor for Culture Architect Cristina Stuto, who sympathetically read one of the readings, and the Director of the 9th Sector, Dr. Giuseppe Cardello, presented the first edition of the “Venti di Primavera” program. Within the aforementioned program, on the evening of 21 March 2022 at the Palazzo Beneventano, an Arts and Poetry happening took place curated by Katia Cava, who created a poetic path from the school of “Jacopo da Lentini” to the present day, within a frame embellished with artistic moments of painting, music, dance and acting. In order of appearance, the extraordinary performers who performed are cited: Corinne Valenti and Christian Vecchio from “APS Jacopo and Riccardo da Lentini”. Loris Serratore pupil of Maestro Alberto Bosco of the SMUL music school in Lentini. Michele Conti and Hilmar Pintaldi of “La Giostra”. Melania La Rocca, VittoriniLentini High School. Giorgio Seria, GiorgiaSortino, GiorgiaCiavola and Natasha Indulto, ARSIS by Eleonora Modica and Stefania Lo Presti. Riccardo Parisi, CostanzaBordonaro, Antonio Sciuto and Syria Caruso, Cultural Association “Il Melograno”. When it happens that little dreams can come true then you think you are lucky, because you understand how much joy there can be in small things, in small gestures and in the big one sharing of deep emotions and pure feelings, which only artistic sensitivity can giveto the human being. Lucky whoever understands it, lives it, grasps it and appreciates it. Too bad … for those who do not know her, and even worse mock her, rejecting her. Artistic sensitivity is found in every heart, you just have to give it a voice and open the door for it. You have to read inside, to give life to a whirlwind of shared emotions, coming from many different and still magnificent sources. All this seems like the magic of fairies or forest fireflies, the voice of a magnificent writer and the vaulting of a lady … No … it is not a fairy tale, it is what happened on March 21, 2022 at Palazzo Beneventano in Lentini. This is the date on which UNESCO celebrates World Poetry Day, it is an important date as Spring begins, a wish for good things, but also a day of remembrance for the victims of Mafia, and again … a day in which thoughts of solidarity are dedicated to Ukraine, on the notes of “Imagine” by John Lennon. It is like leafing through the pages of a story, in which the narrator of Katia Cava makes us retrace, along the time line, the chronological journey of poetry starting with our Jacopo da Lentini up to Palazzeschi. The freshness of the young artists and the great professionalism of their masters, have given us moments of true emotion, experienced through the elegant and gentle voice of Corinne Valenti and Hilmar Pintaldi, or through the medieval notes of Michele Conti who, magically closing our eyes, he carried us on a cloud along the timeline. The notes of the clarinet helped the spectator to get out of a storm to go in search of a rainbow of flowers, inside an impromptu artistic painting frame, entitled “Spring”.
The rhythms of the delicate but decisive brushstrokes echoed in the air through twirls and dance steps that drew lines and caressed the words of the poet, with wavy and sinuous movements, almost to want to tell everything, through body language and the strength of the soul. Great sympathy and composed irony emerged, both from the rap reinterpretation of the song “San Martino” by Giosuè Carducci, and from the interpretation of the pieces by Baudelaire and Palazzeschi. All this is true magic… necessary to be reborn in such a difficult historical moment for humanity. The greatest magic lies in the fact that, fortunately, there are still young people growing up with love in their hearts, a love for art that will represent their salvation and the salvation of future world, wishing it was better than the bruised one they found today.
