LENTINI- Interview with the teacher of English language and literature, Prof.ssa Silvia Capodicasa, by the students of class VI of the Vittorini-Gorgia high school yesterday morning, on the occasion of an educational meeting.
– Could you introduce yourself and tell us about your passion for teaching?
I am the English teacher of these guys. I studied in Catania and there I started to work, in the industrial sector, in STMicroelectronics. When I won the competition for qualifications and exams, I realized my dream… I love my job, my students. I live in Syracuse and I move every day.
– Could you tell us about your hobbies?
I love travelling, reading, listening to the music, going to the seaside, meeting my friends.
– What’s been your best trip?
I am lucky, I have travelled a lot… from New York to Bangkok, Perth, Sydney… I have been all over Europe but UK remains my first love in my heart.
– What is your relationship with your school and your colleagues?
I am fine here, with colleagues and above all with the students I have met. They are all special people.
– What do you think about the future of school and teaching?
School has changed. The way of doing school has changed. Students have many more tools, apps, devices to study, learn about history and much more. Students are digital natives and the approach to study has changed, has improved.
– What tips can you give us to learn English better?
Focus on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills… having fun. Listen to music and follow the lyrics; watch films in the original language and travel if you can.
